Hi, I’m Amber!

Thank you so much for landing on my little space of the web. I’m happy to share a little about myself…

I’m happy, energetic, and love to laugh.

I’m a wife to an amazing man, who loves me for me.

I’m a mom to three rambunctious boys & a little princess. Our life is constant chaos - there is never a dull moment, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I love chocolate, red wine & Starbucks iced white mochas. I love sunsets, summer, bare feet and thunderstorms. I am obsessed with dramatic, beautiful light. I love the snow but hate the cold. I love to travel but am also a complete homebody - I love throwing on some sweats, turning on Netflix and just snuggling with my family. I treasure the quiet moments. Sometimes boring is so beautiful.

I am a registered nurse and have spent the last 10 years working in labor and delivery; however, I just resigned last summer to pursue photography full time & spend more time at home with my growing babies. It was so hard to walk away from something I truly loved, but I feel so lucky for the many years I spent helping new parents welcome their own babies into this world. And I am truly humbled today to be able to capture those beautiful moments and memories of new life through photos and films.

So why photography?
Photography has always been a love of mine... from taking Polaroids as a six year old (yep, I still have that one super awkward photo standing next to my first grade "boyfriend" in our classroom, hah!), to film developing in high school, to getting my first DSLR shortly after my oldest son was born.

I want to document what my memory can’t possibly remember. I want to document my children growing up… because as most of you know, it happens in the blink of an eye. I want to capture the memories, the details – both big and small – before they are gone... And I want to do it beautifully.

And as much as I love documenting my own family, I want to be able to share my passion & love of photography with you. I want to be able to capture those memories and moments for your family, too. <3 I want you to be able to look back at those memories many years from now and remember exactly how you felt in that moment.

xo,

Amber

As you may or may not know, autism is a huge part of our family's life and is very near and dear to my heart. So I have chosen to be a volunteer photographer for Spectrum Inspired. Spectrum Inspired is a global community that connects, supports and uplifts individuals and families touched by Autism Spectrum Disorders. In order to educate the general public, Spectrum Inspired uses Lifestyle Photography to document a diverse group of children on the spectrum and their families in an effort to normalize and de-stigmatize ASD. It is their mission to give families a platform to voice their struggles, celebrate their victories and share their story; all the while, removing the stigma and stereotypes of what is thought to be representative of Autism and show the world just how broad and beautiful the spectrum is. Spectrum Inspired helps families with children on the spectrum connect, organize and fund their photography sessions to capture the beauty of their child. If you or someone you know has a child with autism and are interested in this opportunity (or if you are a photographer looking to join), please see the Spectrum Inspired website for more information on the application process! We would love to tell your story. <3
